I do want to point out something though. In Metal Gear Solid 4, Solid Snake jumps in a Metal Gear Rex, and you get to storm through a building. At the end of that segment, you actually get to do battle against a Metal Gear Ray while still controlling Rex. Maybe that’s what you meant when you said “in most of its incarnations,” though. Man that was awesome… it makes me want to play through that game again now!
