Jaemi HUBO hits the gym

• SIG

SIG was developed by Hiroaki Kitano and Tatsuya Matsui to explore the basic theory of human intelligence through an embodied agent. Included is an excerpt from Matsui-san’s personal website which has since disappeared.

Osaka’s Matec Yao develops Recycling Robot

Matec Yao is an Osaka-based organization which has built an educational Recycling & Environment Robot which can guess an object’s material by grasping it.

• AIBO ERS-110

The Aibo ERS-110 was the first production model of SONY’s pet robot dog, and the first home entertainment robot, creating an entirely new industry. It went on sale in 1999 and promptly surpassed all sales expectations.

• Ninomiya-kun

A reading robot developed by Waseda University, Kitakyushu National College of Technology, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, which takes its name from a scholarly 19th-century agricultural leader.
