Martin Miklica’s conceptual robotic greenhouse, Le Petit Prince, puts him in the running as a finalist for Electrolux Design Lab 2009.  The Czech designer envisions a robot that could help colonize Mars.  The robot searches for optimal soil conditions that will provide the necessary nutrients for its passenger.  A little out there, but that’s what makes it cool.  The final event takes place September 24th in London, with the winner receiving €5,000 and a 6th month internship at an Electrolux Design Center.  Video (cg animation) after the break.
