AIBO’s 10th Anniversary

AIBO10thAn-headersm

AIBO may have been put to sleep by SONY back in January of 2006, but AIBO is a robot so it can never be truly laid to rest. For a good indication of AIBO’s immortality, check out ROBOSQUARE – they’re still holding AIBO programming classes for kids and recently celebrated the robot canine’s 10th anniversary attended by a strong gathering of enthusiasts.  Around 30 individuals showed up from around the country with their companions in tow, which performed a synchronized song and dance routine.

Although ROBOSQUARE maintains a kennel of about 40 AIBOs, there may indeed come a time when the robots cease to function and there are no new parts to fix them up – but I can hardly imagine a better place for them than this AIBO paradise.
