OmniZero.9 Transforms into vehicle, Mecha!

I’ve been covering Takeshi Maeda’s latest robot, OmniZero.9, since he first put up photos of its development earlier this month.  The robot is 105cm (3′5″) tall and weighs 25kg (55 lbs), and has cylindrical shoulders which can act as impromptu wheels. Now Vstone (his employer) has posted a video of it in its completed form transforming into a ground-based vehicle as well as a flip-top Mecha that is strong enough to (sort of) carry a human passenger!  Impressive stuff – it’s pretty safe to say this is the most amazing humanoid robot built by an individual, but don’t take my word for it, see for yourself:

  1. [...] Built by Vstone’s Takeshi Maeda, OmniZero.9 is 3.5 foot tall and weighs 55lbs. And earlier this month the pair passed qualifying rounds of the ROBO-ONE humanoid robot competition in Japan—by beating up on smaller robots. Totemo kawaii desu yo!
