Pixar-inspired Butler Robot appears at Chinese Industry Fair

Shanghai’s New International Expo Center is hosting the 2009 China International Industry Fair from November 3rd~7th. Approximately 1,800 exhibitors will be showing off their wares in industrial automation, CNC machining & metalworking, and environmental technology. Besides industrial robots and electric scooters and the like, a rather curious robotic butler also made an appearance. The shape of its eyes is clearly based on Pixar’s WALL-E, though the overall shape and color scheme suggest they also liked the little garbage compactor’s love interest, EVE. Unfortunately no details about the bot, such as its maker, are included in reports from the Expo floor.
