The biennial International Robot Exhibition opened today at Tokyo Big Site, and Kawada Industries’ NEXTAGE robot helped cut the ceremonial ribbon. It runs from November 25th~28th, with 63 companies and 189 booths showcasing their robots and related products. Seminars and workshops will also be held to discuss the latest technology. Takeshi Uchiyamada’s (Toyota Vice President) special lecture “Partner Robots Coexisting with People – dreams & hope” reiterated Toyota’s commitment to developing robots and personal mobility devices to assist humans in the manufacturing, health care, and home sectors. In the 2nd session of the first day, we’ll also hear from Willow Garage and Honda’s R&D Co. Ltd..
