KAIST’s Human-Robot Interaction Research Center is developing a sympathetic robot called KAMERO that can recognize a person’s emotional state from the tone of their voice and facial expression.

In turn, the robot can emote through a variety of cartoony expressions which are simple to understand, and its body is covered in a soft material which makes it safe and friendly to children.
