There haven’t been that many good WiiWare titles, but thankfully Capcom’s retro-styled Mega Man 10 is now available in North America through Nintendo’s download store for 1,000 Wii Points ($10). The game should be available at the end of the month for the XBOX 360 and PlayStation 3.
Perhaps inspired by the Swine Flu epidemic, this time around the world’s robots have been infected by a mysterious robot flu called Roboenza, which causes them to go bonkers and take over. Mega Man will have to take his chances with the virus and return everything back to normal or the poor humans, who extensively rely on the robots for almost everything, will be in dire straits. Thankfully Capcom isn’t charging for the option to play as Proto Man, who has the ability to charge up shots and slide on the ground but takes a bit more damage when hit. There are also 88 challenges and a time trial mode with online leaderboards. The game is said to continue where Mega Man 9 left in terms of difficulty, so don’t expect a cakewalk.
