DirtyRobot, a Westerner who blogs about his experiences in Japan, has posted some photos of a cool customized vending machine made to look like a retro robot.  He found it in Shibata, Tokyo in front of a building decorated with small metal sculptures (including another robot).  I long for the day when such displays of creativity (and a little elbow grease) show up in my neighborhood, but alas such pride and individuality is often obliterated by the big box stores.  Hit the source link for a couple more.
