Hanool Robotics Signs $2.5M Deal With Saudia Arabia

Hanool Robotics, one of South Korea’s many robotics technology companies, has signed a two year robotics technology transfer agreement with Saudi Arabia worth $2,500,000 USD.  The company will work together with KACST (King Abdulaziz City for Science & Technology) on various R&D projects including fire-fighting and security robots.  The company has previously developed a disinfecting robot vacuum cleaner and intelligent service robots such as Tiro (pictured).  This isn’t the first time a Middle Eastern power has shown interest in robotics; the United Arab Emirates has been working with PAL Technology to develop a full-sized humanoid robot for several years (see REEM-A and REEM-B).
