Robots Help Train Passengers Mind Their Manners

Pink Tentacle has posted some amazing vintage train posters that appeared in the Tokyo subways between 1976 and 1982.  I’ve nabbed the ones directly related to robots here, but check out the source link to see the entire spread.  Apparently forgetting your belongings (especially umbrellas) was a huge problem back then as many of the posters feature them.

This heroic robot of train justice is searching out “Three annoying train monsters” (1982) who cross their legs between passengers, fall asleep on the train, or rudely open up their newspaper.

“Humans are forgetful” (1976), even Osamu Tezuka, who has his belongings returned to him by his famous creation, Astro Boy.

Doraemon the robot cat appears to remind you to take your umbrella.  “Wasureemon” (1980)
