IEEE Spectrum’s Erico Guizzo got in touch with Prof. Aghil Yousefi-Koma (Center for Advanced Vehicles, University of Tehran) to bring the world more details on Iran’s walking humanoid robot Surena 2. The following videos show the robot can indeed walk (though much slower than other humanoids), stand on one leg, and bow. The purpose of the project is not only to study bipedal locomotion but to get students interested in engineering. More photos of the new robot can be found at the source link below.
