Vstone’s Tetsujin 28-gō robot, based of course on the seminal anime better known as Gigantor in the U.S., is available once again through Vstone’s Robot Shop. The original production of 100 units sold out quicker-than-quick back in October 2006, and what with Kobe’s Tetsujin-28 monument about to celebrate its 1st birthday, demand has likely reached a fever pitch. The beautiful exterior harbors 17 degrees of freedom, LEDs, and speaker, allowing the robot to walk, kick, punch, and pose (with deafening sound effects) all at your command. With a pricetag of 399,000 JPY (approx. $4,700 USD) this one may be better left to collectors, but even at that price they’ll be gone before you can say, “What kind of name is Dr. Katzmeow?” If only I had that kind of cash to burn on nostalgia, I’d be first in line!
