Reminder: PAL Robotics’ Contest Deadline Is This Friday!

Just a quick reminder that both robot contests being held by PAL Robotics end this Friday at 11:59 pm (Spanish time – make sure you enter early to qualify!).  The first contest asks you to describe a feasible killer application for their humanoid service robot REEM-H1.  The second contest asks you to design the look of REEM-C, their next full-sized bipedal humanoid.  Supposedly the winning design will actually be considered when they develop the real robot – so you’ll not only win a cool $1,200 cash, but the pride of having designed the look of one of the world’s most advanced humanoid robots!  I wouldn’t pass up this chance if I were you – they need at least 25 applicants for that one in order to give out 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place cash prizes, so make sure you submit your entry on time.  Remember, only one entry per contest per participant.

I’m guessing you’re referring to the REEM H2? I’m not a fan of its design, either. Hopefully they’ll pick one that’s a little less evil looking.

I hope they publish the entries. I’m looking for the killer app.

I’m sure they will. And the winners will be announced around the 15th, and no later than October 31st, which is a pretty fast turn-around.
