Robot creator Tomotaka Takahashi (ROBO-GARAGE) recently gave a lecture at Tokyo University, where he is currently an Associate Professor of RCAST (Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology). The presentation included a demonstration of his jumping robot ROPID, which didn’t really show anything new but we love seeing such an awesome little robot in action. He also presented the first version of the Panasonic EVOLTA robot he designed, which earned a Guinness Book World Record after it climbed to the top of the Grand Canyon on a small rope.
Last year Takahashi-san mentioned that he was planning on making a short film starring ROPID. As one of our favorite robot designers, we’re certainly excited to see what he has planned next!
