AUDI’s latest car commercial prominently features robots to showcase the company’s engineering brilliance.  Even though the robot is entirely computer-generated, it does have one thing in common with one of Toyota’s real robots – it plays the violin.  The song is from the Wizard of Oz’s Tin Woodman, who (along with Baum’s other mechanical characters like Tik-Tok) were imagined decades before the invention of the word “robot”.
